Static’s legacy is one of legend. Fast approaching his eleventh year in the business of hosting stages and maintaining crowd responses and engaging in noteworthy connections from World Class DJ’s to World Class crowds, Static’s journey as an MC from bedroom to big room in that decade has been one of hard work, long hours, many studio sessions and even more stages … and he would not change a second of it.
From humble beginnings writing rhymes and honing his craft on parties, bars, clubs, raves and anywhere else he could test his abilities, learn and raise his game, this would be a course of action that would pay off greatly as in the October of 2007, recognised and respected industry titans ‘Hardcore Heaven’ saw fit to award him with the much sought after and hard earned ‘Best Breakthrough Award’.
With a flexible lyrical style that lends it’s self perfectly to stages large and small, local and international, whether that’s championing fast and furious rhymes to the bustling energy of UK hardcore and rave or the frantic, bass led, underground allure of dark drum & bass, Static’s style as an MC is completely unique.
It is this outstanding, crowd hyping and vibrant style that has afforded him the honour of playing for such recognised and well reputed rave organisations as ‘Run To The Sun’, ‘HTID’, ‘Slammin Vinyl’, ‘Raver Baby’, ‘Hardcore Heaven’, ‘Fusion’, ‘Uproar’ and many, many more as well as celebrating another breakthrough moment, making his debut appearance as a guest on the internationally recognised BBC Radio 1 for scene ambassador Kutski.
Going from strength to strength, Static took the leap into production and expanded on his vocal abilities in 2012, releasing the debut album ‘Game On’ on Breeze’s widely celebrated and much loved FutureWorld record label. The album was a game changer for Static as not only did it explore his ability to write bars and rhymes and work with all manner of talented producers on tracks, but also to build upon his capability as a singer song writer. The album received rave reviews and sold and charted well in equal measure.
Static has also had the honour of writing vocal work that has featured also in a number of collaborations, over a series of mixes, albums and downloads, including that of his early teaming with friend, brother and international artist MC Enemyas the infamous duo ‘SE1’. This would be a pairing that not only saw their free digital download mixtapes be downloaded in the thousands, but also saw them performing worldwide to rave fans in their thousands and although the two went solo prior to Static’s signing to FutureWorld, there have been a few appearances together on stage in 2016.
From FutureWorld to All Around The World, from Krafty Radio to BBC Radio 1, from spitting bars in bars to outright owning stages in Spain and Europe wide, from cutting demo tapes to releasing well sold and incredibly loved debut albums, MC Static’s work within and outside of UK hardcore continues to grow on a weekly basis.
After taking a breather for the latter half of 2016, Static is now back in full stride & ready to hit the ground running in 2017.
